Girlfriend
DEC 10-21
at THE NEST
BY TODD ALMOND and MATTHEW SWEET
DIRECTED by CHRIS LAM

Set in Nebraska in the 90’s, Will, a bit of a social outcast, and Mike, the popular football player, figure out that there is more to life than what high school has taught them. Days after graduation they explore their relationship and begin to ask themselves where their lives begin. Based on the album by Matthew Sweet, Girlfriend is a pop/rock musical for everyone who’s lived in a small town and feels for their first love.

SCOTT McGOWAN--MIKE
Scott is positively ecstatic to be a part of another Fighting Chance production, though a bit uneasy at the thought of trying to find reliable parking on Granville Island again. A graduate of Studio 58, he now spends most of his time either with his lovely wife Karen, bluntly reviewing beer on the internet, or writing and producing music under the moniker The Evan Williams Project. Select theatrical credits include: Sky Masterson (Guys and Dolls, Fighting Chance Productions), Ricky (The Crowd, Green Thumb Theatre/Studio 58), Prior 1 (Angels in America, Studio 58), and Charles Bovary/Duck (Madame Bovary, AnimalPartsNYC/Studio 58).
